Time is All We Have [2018]
Cover Art, Branding, Campaign Design, Music Composition & Sound Design.
Before “time is all we have.” came to be, I was working on three separate album concepts, each revolved around different themes.
This began a month after releasing my first EP, “time is a good storyteller.” Being limited by college work and other commitments,
I was not able to dedicate myself completely to the music projects I wished to carry out.
That is when the ideation for a fourth concept began, the limitations we face due to the time we lose.
Initially it was a simple concept that stressed on how the stories I wish to share are confined by the time the music lasts,
how everything is limited by time and so on. In hindsight I now feel this concept to be generic and lacked the depth my art
is known for and I strive for on a daily basis. I began to play around with the word “time” and created mind maps for it.
Simultaneously, a friend of mine who was having a difficult time with her relationship stimulated me to write a piece based on mine
as they felt similar in a few ways. This resulted with me writing a piece titled “fleeting moments.” which is based on my experience
with the people around me and in a way is a general feeling that is experienced by everyone at some point but yet made it feel very
personal at the same time. I sent it to my friend who in return sent me a voice note at three in the morning, giving me a different
perspective to look at, which resulted in the inception of a new direction to take this concept of mine.
The initial ideas and concepts I had developed for the EP did not satisfy me in terms of its depth and specificity.
So, the idea was to develop a concept that was general yet created a space for the listener to relate to in a personal manner.
Hence, I chose to represent the experiences I have faced since I began college 5 months ago. I believe all of us go through these experiences,
the cycle of euphoria and anxiety, settling down and feeling less/wanting more again and so on. Whenever anyone starts fresh, in my case, joining college,
there is a feeling of euphoria yet a sense of anxiety that grows on us. With the passage of time, everything becomes still and clear,
you see a new perspective to the things around you. You desire for more or choose to stray away from what you see until something new demands your attention
and the cycle goes on.
Therefore, I hope listeners are able to relate to this cycle of emotions that are bound by time and learn to accept them rather than wanting to go back.

"3 A.M." is a result of a candid conversation I was having with a friend of mine in regard to a poem I had written about passing moments after realising
my then relationship with the girl who I was with won't last in the long run. the vocal in the track is a voice note I had received at 3 A.M., hence the title.
"metanoia.", change in one's way of life resulting from penitence or spiritual conversion.
"cacoethes." talks about the irresistible urge one faces on wanting to return to how things were despite knowing they'll never be the same.
"hamartia." refers to the downfall of a person who was once seen as a central figure. the downfall takes place due to the spontaneous decisions s/he makes
without much regard to the moment they're in. it summarises the central theme of the EP as it refers to how one shouldn't act out in haste
but instead live the moment they're in; move forward rather than wanting to go back.
